Retention & Contingency Program (PRC)
The
Prevention, Retention and Contingency
(PRC) program
is designed to assist low-income families with necessary resources to:
-
Prevent families from having to apply for OWF
cash assistance when crisis situations arise;
-
Help
family members retain employment by enhancing job skills, overcoming
barriers and providing short-term assistance or wage supplementation
if necessary;
-
Provide for contingent needs by helping families with non-recurrent
urgent problems that could, if left unattended, result in families
needing long-term public assistance.
The goals of
the Prevention, Retention, and Contingency (PRC) Program include:
-
To
assist the family to self-sufficiency
-
Prevent
the family from reliance of ongoing cash assistance
-
Divert
the family from reliance on ongoing cash assistance and guide them
to self-sufficiency by helping them through a presenting crisis
-
Retain
