Disability Financial Assistance
Ohio’s
Disability Financial Assistance Program is a safety net for needy
individuals who do not meet all of the eligibility requirements
necessary to receive help from other federal and state benefit programs,
such as Supplemental Security Income and Ohio Works First. Eligibility
is determined by county department of job and family services based on
Ohio Administrative Code rules.
Individuals who are disabled as determined by the ODJFS County Medical
Services section: or Individuals who were at least 60 years of age and
in receipt of Disability Financial Assistance in June 2003.
In
order to receive assistance, the individual or family must meet all
eligibility requirements including income and resource criteria. For
example, regardless of its’ size, a family can not have resources that
exceed $1000. The maximum cash benefit is $115 per month for one person
and; $159 per month for two people.
