Day Care Subsidized
Child Care
Subsidized child care is
provided for eligible families to support the parents’ work and training
efforts.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services develops
and issues regulations to govern the program.

Families whose income is at or
below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline, can receive payment for all
or part of their monthly child care expenses.
Child care services are
provided for parents or families of children being cared for in
certified homes and licensed child care centers.
County department of job and family services
agencies certify private homes caring for six or fewer children.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services
inspects and licensing child care centers and private homes caring for
more than seven children.
Child care licensing regulations and standards
are developed and issued by the state in order to assure that children
are cared for in safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate
environments.
Families
may apply for child care assistance by completing an application for
subsidized child care at the Holmes County Department of Job and Family
Services.
Early
Learning Initiative (ELI)
Child care
and school readiness services are provided to three year olds through
compulsory school age.
Flexible hours up to full day/full year care.
Licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and
Family Services or Ohio Department of Education.
Families
must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline and may not
receive subsidized child care with the same provider during ELI hours
(6am - 6pm).
A monthly family co-payment may not be required
if the family income is at or below 165% of the Federal Poverty
Guideline.
Families
may apply for child care assistance by completing an application for ELI
child care at the Holmes County Department of Job and Family Services.
