ABOUT US...

We serve individuals and families from all walks of life.

Families with child support needs come to our Child Support Division for paternity establishment, child support or medical order establishment and enforcement of those orders.

Abused, neglected or dependent children and abused, neglected or exploited older adults are helped through our Child and Adult Protective Services Division.

Families and individuals who need finding or keeping a job, help with their medical needs, help paying for child care, or help purchasing nutritious food find the assistance they need through our Public Assistance  Division or through our Workforce Development efforts.

The county department of job and family services is established by law as the county agency designated to provide certain human services to county residents.  Formerly known as the Holmes County Department of Human Services and now known as the Holmes County Department of Job and Family Services, we administer programs under guidance from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Unlike certain other Ohio counties, Holmes County benefits from having four separate but related agencies (Workforce Development, Child and Adult Protective Services, Child Support Enforcement and Public Assistance) combined in one agency, under one director, located in one building.

This arrangement not only reduces administrative and overhead costs—thereby reducing costs to the taxpayer—it also makes it possible for consumers of our services to access all these services in just one location.

This web site has been prepared to provide you with an overview of our programs and the primary services we provide.  Our staff is available to make presentations to groups that want to receive more information or ask questions.  Please call us at 330-674-1111 or toll free at 1-800-971-7979 to arrange for a staff member to speak with your group or organization.

If you, or someone you know is in need of our services, please call or stop by our office at 85 N. Grant Street, Millersburg, Ohio during our business hours Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We work hard to fulfill our mission…  helping individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency, safety and stability by providing an array of services tailored to meet our customers’ needs.
